CIP SUCCESS DELIVERED

Turnkey Clean-In-Place System Installed

Able Engineering Delivers Bespoke CIP Skid System for Leading UK Cereal Manufacturer

Able Engineering is proud to have recently completed the design, manufacture and installation of a fully bespoke Clean-In-Place (CIP) washdown skid for one of the UK’s leading cereal production sites.

Delivered as a complete turnkey package, this state-of-the-art system demonstrates Able’s end-to-end capabilities from concept through to commissioning, while meeting the client’s stringent hygiene, safety, and space-saving requirements.

At the heart of the system is a 4,500L fully 316L stainless-steel tank, fabricated in line with site hygienic standards. Featuring internal and external surface finishes of <0.8Ra, the tank includes a centralised baffle to divide water temperatures and is double-skinned with phenolic insulation and fully welded stainless-steel cladding, ensuring safe-to-touch conditions in high-temperature environments.

Designed to maximise cleaning flow performance within a tight footprint, Able worked closely with the client to optimise the tank and skid design around both available space and process requirements. The pre-fabricated skid was delivered to site as a ‘ready-to-fit’ unit, minimising on-site disruption.

All electrical work was completed and tested at Able’s facility to IEE regulations and certified to NICEIC standards. The system is controlled by bespoke PLC software housed within a custom stainless-steel control panel, featuring a state-of-the-art HMI (human machine interface) with full connectivity to the site’s existing PLC infrastructure.

The skid includes:

  • A high-performance re-circulation pump

  • Plate heat exchanger

  • Supply pumps capable of delivering up to 40m³/hr of hot water at 65°C and 10 bar(g)

  • Integrated control equipment

“This project is a fantastic example of our turnkey offering in action,” said Daniel Cudworth the Technical Director at Able Engineering. “From design and fabrication to delivery and commissioning, we provided the client with a fully integrated solution tailored precisely to their site’s operational and spatial needs.”

Able Engineering continues to support the food and beverage sector with innovative, hygienic and space-efficient process systems built to the highest technical standards.
